Spring in ones step (and sunshine on our shoulders)

Cheers! The Captain of Boats and the Chairman formally commemorating the Antipodean WRC birthday season in the customary style

Girl Power, WRC Style

Captain Four-Eyes

Snowdrop Campion, just before dinner on Saturday night

The Chairman and First Lady had an eventful weekend at the Campo’s, as ever. In addition to three additions to the family Campo (2 goldfish, one of which seems to suffer from serious Graves Disease, and an anti-social hamster which I spent the weekend trying to get into the oven, much to the alarm of the VC of Boats), the Treasurer looks as if the Captain has had a big weekend on the Stella Artois. Not that this distracted from her sunny disposition, of course, and it was later explained to the Chairman that this was a result of two facial hockey injuries. As he observed later, bearing in mind what harm a little exercise can do, one can only imagine what serious athletic endeavour could result in. The Campo’s, as ever, remain unconvinced, and punished us with a bike ride in searing heat all the way to the pub, with a brief stop to hoover down a couple of cold ones to offer some rehydration to the occasional cyclists from N21.

You will also not be surprised to note that the misspent youth of the Captain has finally caught up with him, as after 39 years of what he described as “A1 sight” he has finally had to invest in a pair of spectacles. Still, if that’s what Dungeons & Dragons does for you, let that be a lesson to teenage boys everywhere!
